"One technique mastered is worth a thousand sampled."
There is an immense difference between sport fighting and self-defense;practical efficiency and realism are the hallmarks of genuine ju-jitsu techniques;they are functional as opposed to flashy.JuJitsu means'flexible science'and this is the key to success for today's practitioner just as it was for the warrior of yesterday.Flexible science somewhat obscures the fact that jujitsu has a practical application.JuJitsu deos not rely on brute strength but upon skill and finesse. It is the use of minimum effort to acheive maximum effect.Applying this principle enables anyone, regardless of physique or stature,to control and release their energy to its greatest potential.Flexibilty also means keeping an open mind. You don't reject this move or that techinque simply because it is different.Combine the two kinds of flexibilty,of mind and body, and you have JuJitsu, and adventurous, dynamic martial art. There is something for everyone in jujitsu. You may practise it for self defensce,as a personal challenge,to acquire a skill,or simply to become fitter. If you are attracted to it as popular sport as it is practised worldwide, with team and individual tournament, you will enjoy sports jujitsu.

PJJF also wants to promote cordial and friendly relations between its members and to supervise ju-jitsu activity throughout the Pakistan.PJJF not only wants to promote self-defense amongst people but also encourages them to become confident enough that they can help themselves in a difficult situation. One final word before you go into action.Ju-Jitsu like other martial arts is based on fighting skills. However,we do not train to “fight”.You may have joined a class because you want to gain more self-confidence or learn self- defense skills. It is only extreme circumstances that any of the moves you learn could be used outside the dojo. They should never be regarded as a ‘party piece’ or used to fool around with friends. The law states that you can use reasonable force to defend yourself. You only do what is necessary to stop the attack and get away.It is uncommon for martial arts practitioners to find themselves in a situation where they need to call on their ‘fighting’ skills. Training in ju-jitsu instills a sense of awareness, confidence, and, yes, assertiveness, but these will guide the responsible practitioner away from potential danger rather than into confrontation.Developing ju-jitsu skills can be a life long quest.Whatever you do in ju-jitsu,it is exciting, challenging and rewarding. It is up to you to decide on your goal and proceed at your own pace. The great value of ju-jitsu is not simply in its practical application for the purposes of self-defense;as a system it offers more than just battlefield techniques for defeating an enemy. The practice of modern ju-jitsu offers physical training alongside the cultivation of social attitudes and moral values. It is a great paradox of the martial art that those who practice them achieve peace through the study of arts of war and violence.
