Pakistan retained its title of Asian Champion in Ju-Jitsu by winning Gold in Duo System.
The 2nd Asian Ju-Jitsu and Belt Wrestling Championship,2008 concluded successfully in Bishkek-Kyrgyzstan on 25th March,2008.More than 17 countries participated in 04 days event which was witnessed by the prominent sports leaders of the world including the UNESCO officials as well as a large number of local sports lovers.Pakistan retained its Asian title in Duo-Women and Duo-Mixed category of Ju-Jitsu sports by winning Gold Medals in the 2nd Asian Championship,2008 at Bishkek-Kyrgyzstan.Shabina and Rumaisa won women event, whereas, Shabina and Waheed-ud-Din won the  Mixed Duo event. Pakistani's performance was thrilling & outstanding throughout the Championship,particularly in view of the token participation in the said event, due to the financial constraints. Pakistan participated with 09 players(4 girls & 5 boys) only in total of  of 15 categories available in Ju-Jitsu, whereas, other countries participated with full teams in all categories. our, Pakistani players secured total of 15 medals by participating in different categories.Ms.Shabina Nawaz of Pakistan was adjudged/declared best player of the Championship and was awarded a special Gold medal,henceforth,she managed to get 06 individual medals,03 Gold,02 Silver and 01 Bronze.It is pertinent to mention here that the Camp was established in Pakistan by the PJJF for one and a half month, wherein, more than 50 participants from all over the country participated and initially a team of 27 players to represent Pakistan were selected.However,financial constraints compelled the Federation to drop many of the young talented players due to non availability of funds neither from the private sector nor from the Government.Pakistani players amazed the audience by their performance in spite of token participation by securing 18 points in Ju-Jitsu and got themselves placed on the 3rd position, whereas, Kazakhstan, who participated with 27 players,secured 21 points and was placed 2nd,Chinese Taipei participated with 30 members team and managed to secure 1st position by claiming 27 points.Out of 17 countries,who participated in 2nd Asian Championship,Pakistan remained prominent due to its young players performance who fought in spite of injuries. Shabina Nawaz secured 06 medals including 02 Gold, 02 Silver and 01 Bronze and special Gold Medal of best player. Waheed-ud-Din secured 01 Gold, 01 Silver and 01 Bronze.Haroon Shakir,secured 01 Silver and 01 Bronze,whereas,Rumaisa Rana secured 01 Gold and 02 Bronze.Maryam secured 01 Silver,Ambreen Ashiq secured 02 Bronze.Musharraf Ali secured 01 Bronze, whereas, Muhammad Ashiq secured 01 Bronze and Arshad Munir secured 01 Bronze.(Total 19 medals & 01 Gold for best player).Pakistan also participated in the 1st Asian Ju-jitsu & belt wrestling championship in November 2006 in Almaty-Kazakhstan with a total of 11 players (3 girls & 8 Boys) and brought home 12 medals with 06 Gold, 01 Silver & 05 Bronze respectively.
