Fighting System

Part I uses controlled attacks with arms and legs. After a grab, Part II moves to throws and takedowns. On the mat, Part III awards effective immobilizations, controlled strangulations, and joint locks.

Duo System

A pair demonstrates self-defense against 12 randomly called attacks, including grips, embraces, strikes, and armed scenarios. Athletes are judged on speed, accuracy, control, and realism.

Athletes competing in the Newaza System

Newaza System

The contest starts standing without punches or kicks and develops mainly on the ground. Victory comes by submission or points earned through takedowns, controlling positions, and progressive advantage.

Athletes in a Contact Ju-Jitsu match
